How to Use The Euro Stoxx 50 List to Find Investment Ideas

Having an Excel document containing the names, tickers, and financial data for every stock within the Euro Stoxx 50 Index can be tremendously useful.

This document becomes even more powerful when combined with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

With that in mind, this tutorial will demonstrate how to apply two insightful investing screens to the Euro Stoxx 50 List.

The first filter we’ll apply is for Euro Stoxx 50 constituents with dividend yields above 3% and market capitalizations above $50 billion.

Screen 1: High Dividend Yields, Large Market Capitalizations

Step 1: Download the Euro Stoxx 50 List by clicking here.

Step 2: Click the filter icon at the top of the dividend yield column, as shown below.

Step 3: Change the filter setting to “Greater Than” and input 0.03 into the field beside it. Since dividend yield is measured in percent, this is equivalent to filtering for Euro Stoxx 50 constituents with dividend yields higher than 3%.

Step 4: Close out of the filter window (by clicking the exit button, not by clicking the “Clear Filter” button in the bottom right corner). Then, click on the filter icon at the top of the market capitalization column, as shown below.

Step 5: Change the filter setting to “Greater Than” and input 50000 into the field beside it. Note that since market capitalization is measured in millions of U.S. Dollars, filtering for Euro Stoxx 50 constituents with market capitalizations above “50000 million” is equivalent to filtering for index components with market capitalizations above $50 billion.
